Then for five years held the position of National Basketball League Commissioner. Mike Osborne, Proball Director, coached the original Adelaide 36ers and also the Sydney Westars in the National Basketball League. He also enjoyed the position as an assistant National Junior Coach and a National Mens team Selector. On the local South Australian scene he won many Championships with the Noarlunga City Tigers as well as coaching State Junior teams in National Championships.
